Margaret leads our nonprofit services practice. She is passionate about serving the nonprofit community through her work at the firm and her outside involvement in the community. She provides audit, accounting and consulting services to nonprofit clients.
Margaret’s outside community involvement includes serving on the board and finance committee of California Hospital Medical Center Foundation and Treasurer and board member for SOSMentor. She is a former board member and Chairman for Boys Town of California. She is also a board member and Chair of the Community Service Committee of LA5 Rotary
Margaret is a member of the California Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Government Audit Quality Center (GAQC). She attended Brigham Young University and graduated with honors, from California State University-Northridge, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting Theory. She also attended the Golden Gate University Master of Taxation Program.
Services provided to nonprofit organizations include audits (including OMB Circular A-133, Yellow Book and Childcare Reporting) reviews and compilations. Additional services include dashboard reporting, benchmarking analysis, mergers and acquisitions consulting, board training and governance and strategic planning.
Margaret leads the firm’s quarterly nonprofit workshops and prepares the annual benchmarking survey. Margaret is a frequent guest lecturer and co-hosted the 2009 California Society of CPAs’ Not-for-Profit Organizations conference.
Margaret joined the firm in 1992; prior experience includes 10 years of private industry experience as a controller.
Margaret’s personal interests include travel, hiking and volunteer work.
