GHJ recently hosted its latest Women’s Empowerment Speaker Series on the importance of both men and women advocating for women’s advancement. The session, titled “Creating Leaders: Men and Women Sponsor the Next Gen Journey,” was led by GHJ Partner Polina Chapiro with panelists Yvonne Burke (Chief People Officer at GHJ), Dr. Lois Shelton (Professor and Department of Management Academic Lead and Entrepreneur Program at the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at California State University Northridge) and Jack Ringquist (University of Southern California’s Associate Director and Global Sector Lead). Each panelist shared the important distinction between mentorship and sponsorship and how each are necessary for improving financial results, gender balance and diversity in the workplace.
