LOS ANGELES, CA (March 8, 2018) –The Los Angeles-based accounting firm, Green Hasson Janks (GHJ) supports female employees every day and reaffirms its commitment to progress by marking special recognition in honor of International Women’s Day 2018. Now, more than ever, there’s a strong call-to-action to press forward and progress gender parity. A strong call to #PressforProgress. A strong call to motivate and unite friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive. (www.internationalwomensday.com)

GHJ is doing its part to #PressforProgress and help women achieve their ambitions. Year-round the firm provides internal trainings designed to advance women to leadership positions. The firm’s Women’s Empowerment Speaker Series invites women who have achieved top roles in their field to discuss the path to leadership and offer insights into the journey’s challenges and opportunities. The most recent focused on Accelerating Success: What I know Now That I Wish I Knew Then, and was moderated by GHJ’s Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Mari-Anne Kehler was joined by top business leaders Alma Derricks, Chief Marketing Officer, El Rey Network; Lina O’Connor, Chief Financial Officer, Tender Greens; and Diane Reichenberger, Vice-President – Consumer Products Global Strategy, Mattel.

GHJ’s commitment to supporting women is deeply rooted in the Firm’s culture. With more than half the staff comprised of females and a third of its senior leaders being women, GHJ prides itself on cultivating a diverse employee base and providing a welcoming and supportive environment for people of all backgrounds and experiences. By creating diversity of thought GHJ is able to bring best results for its clients. This was recently demonstrated when two of the top 25 LABJ’s Most Influential Women in Accounting were GHJ partners: Polina Chapiro and Donella Wilson.

“The #BeMore culture is focused on diversity and inclusion. Women are empowered to have successful careers alongside commitments outside the workplace.” Managing Partner Tom Barry explained. “As business leaders we need to ask ourselves, Have we made enough progress? Are we helping enough women find their path to continued success? Companies that advance women into leadership roles create better outcomes for clients and their organizations.”

GHJ is also a supporter of community efforts to grow women in business such as CalCPA’s Annual Women’s Leadership Forum and Center for Nonprofit Management Women’s Leadership Summit and repeat sponsor of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Women’s Summit. Soroptimist Los Angeles is a global volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Donella Wilson, partner at GHJ, will be honored as a community hero by their organization on March 16th.

“Women are an integral part of creating an innovative and dynamic workforce. In order to tackle gender inequality in the workplace, we must encourage women to #BeMore for themselves and make an extra effort to #PressforProgress,” Barry said.

GHJ believes every day is a chance for women (and men) to #BeMore. Not do more. Not work more. Instead, the firm encourages its employees to be the best they can be and enjoy life to the fullest. In our latest #BeMore blog six of our women leaders share on how the #BeMore culture at Green Hasson Janks has changed the way they think about our career growth.
